Did Myanmar’s Aung San Suu Kyi truly show promise as a democratic leader or did the international community project this façade onto her in the hopes that she would transform into a long-awaited liberator? Rather than bombarding Aung San Suu Kyi with criticism, the international community should strive to bolster their champion of change.
