Twitter had to implement safeguards after its outgoing employee deleted U.S. President Donald J. Trump‘s account on the platform.
Earlier in the day, the social network said their customer support employee, who was leaving the company, took down Mr. Trump’s account. It was deactivated for 11 minutes around 7:00 pm (2300 GMT) on Thursday.
President Trump has 41.8 million followers on Twitter, which he uses to communicate his views on events in the U.S. and around the world.
